HISTORY OF WATERMAN’S
Established in the 1930’s by Erland Waterman, who unfortunately died as a
young man, the dealership was then operated for a short time by his wife Lola
Waterman Sigel until she found she could no longer manage two young boys
and both the dairy and equipment operations. She then decided to let the equipment business go. As
the years passed, Don and Robert graduated from college in 1955 and regained
control of the dealership. Within a short time the dealership grew under their
nurturing and leadership, while working on the farm and raising big families. To
this day both farm and dealership continue to flourish. Although Bob and Don
recently retired, their impact can still be felt.
In the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, Bob and Pete (sons of Robert) and Dave
and Jim (sons of Don) joined the business. Pete headed over to the farm in
1981, while Bob, Dave and Jim elected to stay with the equipment end of
things and are managing partners of the equipment business. While Jim works
as General Manager, Bob heads up the Sales Department as Manager and Dave
manages the road service end of the business.
Today, with the new principles of Waterman Farm Machinery, and new visions,
the company will continue to grow to its fullest potential. The "family (staff)" of
Waterman's are committed to provide our customers the best sales, service,
and parts available in the equipment industry today!
We look forward to seeing you at our dealership, and fulfilling all your needs. In
the mean-time check out our equipment listings, parts, service, and sales
pages. Please let us know how we can help you meet your equipment
challenges.
